Disney Hires Mining Exec as CIO
The Walt Disney Company has named Diane Jurgens as CIO. She takes the role vacated by Susan O’Day, who retired from Disney as CIO and EVP of Enterprise Technology back in January.
Reporting to Disney Senior Executive Vice President and CFO Christine McCarthy, Jurgens will oversee the company’s global Enterprise Technology organization, which includes enterprise business systems, infrastructure, workforce enablement, and enterprise resilience engineering. Her responsibilities include planning, prioritization, implementation and operations of Disney IT systems and infrastructure.
Jurgens most recently worked as Chief Technology Officer for BHP, a Australia-headquartered multinational mining, metals, and petroleum company. In that role, she was responsible for leading capital program delivery, technology operations, cyber security, data privacy, digital strategy, and research and development. Before BHP, she has held numerous senior executive positions across a variety of industries including President and Managing Director of Shanghai OnStar Telematics Company, Vice President and Chief Information Officer for General Motors’ international operations, and as an executive at The Boeing Company.

After suffering a major hack over summer, Twitter has hired Rinki Sethi as CISO. She joins Twitter from her previous role as Vice President and CISO at Rubrik, a cloud data management company. Before that, Sethi worked as Vice President for Information Security at IBM, Vice President for Information Security at cyber-security firm Palo Alto Networks, Director & Head of Product Security at software giant Intuit, and in other cyber-security roles at companies like at eBay, Walmart, and PG&E. In her new role at Twitter, Sethi will report to Nick Tornow, Platform lead. She will oversee Twitter's information security (InfoSec) posture, which includes areas like Enterprise Risk, Security Risk, Application Security, and Detection & Response.
Bridgestone Americas has appointed Taren Rodabaugh has been named Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective August 31. She will lead the information technology strategy in support of the company's ongoing evolution to become a sustainable mobility and advanced solutions company. Rodabaugh joins Bridgestone Americas from Harley-Davidson, where she most recently worked as CIO where she oversaw digital platform and ERP system modernizations, establishment of key IT performance and security functions and execution of IT organizational transformations.
Former Illinois CIO Ron Guerrier has joined Hewlett-Packard as their CIO. Before his March 2019 appointment in Illinois State by Governor J.B. Pritzker, he had spent two decades in private sector working as CIO for Express Scripts, CIO for Farmers Insurance, as well as CIO for Toyota North America
Community-based non-profit workforce provider Goodwill Industries has appointed Dru Rai as CIO. He will oversee IT operations and digital transformation and innovation, deploying business applications, advancing the business intelligence strategy and improving the technology infrastructure. Most recently, he was Interim Chief Digital & Chief Information Officer for Cooper Tire and Rubber, and had previously been Chief Digital Officer and Global CIO for Ball Corporation, as well as Senior Vice President Digital Transformation and CIO with DuPont.
