Michaels Redrafts C-suite, Promotes CIO
Arts and crafts retail chain, Michaels Companies, Inc has restructured its senior leadership team and promoted Scott Lindblom to EVP and CIO. Along with Lindblom, the company has appointed Vidya Jwala to the newly-created postion chief customer officer and Holly Shaskey-Platek to chief human resources officer.
As EVP and CIO, Lindblom will be responsible for all IT areas throughout Michaels including the development and implementation of technologies to enhance Michaels ability to serve business partners and customers in addition to overseeing the IT initiatives roadmap.
Lindblom has been with Michaels for 5 years, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and CIO. Prior to joining Michaels, Lindblom worked in several IT roles at Ross Stores for almost a decade. Before joining Ross Stores, he was senior director of supply chain systems at consumer electronics retailer Best Buy.

Most recently, he was CTO at Aclara Technologies, a provider of industrial Internet of Things solutions for electric, water, and gas utilities. Multidisciplinary National security research institution Los Alamos National Laboratory has appointed Stephen Warren as CIO. He will be responsible for the institutional information and technology strategy, architecture and information security across the Laboratory. Earlier, he was CIO and CDO at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has appointed Ben Patel as Senior Vice President and CTO. In his new role, Patel is responsible for product planning and development, as well as engineering and technology across all regions. He came to Cooper following eight years at Tenneco, Inc., where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and CTO. He spent 12 years at General Electric in various technical roles including Senior Research Scientist at GE’s Global Research Center within the Polymer and Chemical Technology Laboratory.
Reitmans Canada Limited has appointed Gale Blank as CIO. She will lead RCL's ongoing digital transformation and information technology strategy. Previously, she worked at Walmart Canada, Walmart US, Loblaw and Holt Renfrew. Blank has led the implementation and creation of business and information technology architecture for a major global retailer and piloted numerous technology initiatives.
